World Group – Ensuring Premium Manufacturing Quality via Investment in the Latest Machinery

World Group prides itself on the skill and experience of its fabrication and installation team members, as well as the quality of the products and services they deliver. The company also recognises that the highest standards of manufacturing excellence (from the cleanest cuts and strongest welds to enhanced productivity and energy efficiency) can best be achieved using the most up-to-date machinery. As such World Group has made significant investment in upgrading its equipment after engaging industry expert Avantek Machinery during a thorough tendering exercise.

World Group director Matt Spooner recalls, “Research put several potential suppliers on our radar, however, it was Avantek Machinery that stood out and won our confidence.”

He continues, “We were impressed by their extensive knowledge and experience, superb range of machines by industry-leading brands, plus an ability to provide information clearly and confidently in a timely fashion. The Avantek Sales team fully understood our requirements and offered the solutions we were looking for, and as a subsidiary of the Quanex Building Products Corporation we felt being part of a larger entity offered financial security that gave us the confidence to close the deal.”

Shortly after World Group had confirmed its order of around £100,000k worth of state-of-the-art fabrication machinery with Avantek, the opportunity arose to purchase an additional SuperCut 6 cutting and machining centre.

Matt told us, “We had already established a relationship with Avantek, and felt we could rely on them to safely pack, transport, and re-install the SuperCut 6 within the available timeframe. Their Field Engineering team did not let us down, and really came through.”

He added, “The move had to happen on a Saturday morning within four weeks of us agreeing the purchase, so we had a relatively small window of opportunity. On the day, Avantek’s team showed up bright and early to begin putting the machine into transport mode. It was a long, but a very successful day. After getting it loaded, the SuperCut arrived safely at our manufacturing facility the following Monday.”

Avantek Machinery Sales Director Jamie Munday said, “We were more than happy to help World Group out with the move. Avantek has a successful track record of supporting clients in whatever way we can. Once the rest of World Group’s new machinery is on site we’ll work closely with Andy, the company’s Production Manager, to get the installation, configuration, and training completed with minimum disruption to productivity. We’re all really excited about it as the Avantek Team have got to know the fabrication team at World Group really well over the past few months and built a fantastic relationship.”

Due for completion later this year, we will be catching up with the team at World Group post-installation to find out about the process and how they are enjoying working with their new equipment.
